6 Ways to Support TruePrepper

This post isn’t meant to be begging for help or anything- we’re in pretty good shape. However, we have had a few readers ask how they could contribute or help out, as they noticed we don’t run pop-ups, video ads, or email spam.

Over the years, we’ve adapted this post to talk about our goals and examine where we’ve been and where we’re going.

If you’re reading this post, I hope you’re a fan of what we’re doing here at TruePrepper. We are all about reaching as many people as possible and informing them that there are inherent risks in their lives that they shouldn’t ignore.

When you support us, you help us get the word out by sharing, helping us pay server fees, and expanding our reach. Here are 6 easy and fast ways you can help us out:

This post has been updated from our original Support TruePrepper post that was first published in 2017. Sean weighs in with the 2026 updates in this TruePrepper ‘state of things’.

Annual Update

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years. What a journey! Overall, TruePrepper has been more successful in reaching people every year, and we hope to build on that success in a big way for 2026. As always, the best thing you can do for us as a loyal reader is to make sure that you stay prepared for anything.

For 2026, we have some big goals and plans. We’re still knocking out tons of reviews and have our giveaway going to help kickstart one lucky reader’s bug out bag. We’re also working on resources and other media that’ll help preparedness be even more accessible (ie, FREE).

Below, we’ll go through a few other free things that help us all out and double as ways to support our site.

Enter Our Giveaways

We take some of our favorite gear from our reviews, combine it with some extra gear we have left over, and give it away to some lucky preppers!

There are a ton of ways to enter the giveaways we run, and we’ve given away several thousand dollars of survival gear over the years.

Our latest giveaway just went live, where we are giving away a bug out bag starter kit.

Sharing is Caring

If you see a post that we cook up and you like it or think it is pretty relevant, feel free to share it! Preparedness is something everyone can benefit from, and our posts often resonate with first-time visitors. They make up 80% of our website traffic, but our returning user count has grown over the years, which is a good sign that we’re helping people get prepared.

Whether you use social media, email, or print and share our checklist and other resources, we appreciate great discussions on the topics we venture into. If you follow us on social media, it will make it easier for you to share our posts.

Join Our Patreon

We’ve set up a Patreon page for those who want to help us out and/or get access to the source Excel files we’ve made for various prepping calculators. You can also download all of our free PDFs at once if you are a contributing member.

A huge thanks to the 600+ patrons who joined in 2025! We’re amazed and humbled at the outpouring of support for our editorial independence and mission to spread the importance of prepping.

While the files there cost money, you can get them for free here on our website, too. All they do is organize them and put them into a single download, so our Patreon page is meant for convenience and as an opportunity to support us, and is not meant to be a paywall for preparedness.

Tweak your search engine so that you see more of what you like, including more of us and our guides! You can add TruePrepper as a preferred source, which will put us in front of you more often.

If you use Google, you’ll see our updates more often. Don’t sleep on other search engines, though: we’re also fans of DuckDuckGo, Brave, Mojeek, etc.

Word of Mouth

“The first rule of prepping is that you don’t talk about prepping.”

I’ve heard this far too often, and it’s hogwash. While the original quote from the movie Fight Club is great, it doesn’t apply to your preparedness and your community.

The more people prepared, the better off everyone- including you- will be. Talk about preparedness with your friends, neighbors, community, and family. Get more people prepared.

Sure, there are exceptions to every rule. Just a little situational awareness can help you avoid people who may take advantage of your preparedness if things get tough for them. Don’t let that risk hold you back from growing your own preparedness by getting involved in your community.

While you’re discussing preparedness and prepping, it wouldn’t hurt to name-drop TruePrepper as a great resource and starting point for both beginners and advanced preppers.

Demand Something

We absolutely love it when we get content requests. It makes us do some research, rack our brains, talk within our group on how we would handle it or have handled a situation, and get a great post up.

Let us know what you want to see or how you think we could be doing things better. A friend with feedback is always great to have. We’ve had several subscribers chime in and let us know when something we post isn’t grammatically correct- or is just plain wrong in their view.

The Final Word

We are already feeling the love, so this post was not meant as a guilt trip or anything like that. We just wanted to lay out the easiest ways that you guys can help us keep going and growing. By the way, here are our top articles of 2024:
